About Us

Built by network engineers,
for network engineers.

ConfigUnify was founded in Toronto in 2021 to solve the multi-vendor configuration chaos that every network operations team faces but nobody had fully addressed.

Our Mission

Network infrastructure is the backbone of every organization — yet the tools for managing it remain fragmented, vendor-specific, and error-prone. ConfigUnify exists to fix that. We believe that managing multi-vendor network configurations should be as straightforward as reviewing a pull request: structured, collaborative, auditable, and reversible.

We are building the universal layer that sits between your team's intentions and your fleet's actual state — translating, normalizing, and validating every change before it reaches production. Our platform is designed to make network change management a first-class engineering discipline, not a manual, risky art form.

Our Values

What guides every decision we make

01
Precision Over Shortcuts
Network configuration errors bring down production systems. We build every parser, validator, and deployment module to the highest standard of accuracy, refusing to ship anything we would not trust in our own infrastructure.
02
Openness by Design
The ConfigUnify Format is an open schema. We contribute to network automation open source projects and believe that interoperability benefits the entire industry — not just our customers.
03
Operator Empathy
Every feature we build is informed by real network engineers running real production environments. We prioritize workflows that reduce cognitive load and build confidence, not just automation for automation's sake.

Leadership

The team behind ConfigUnify

Elena Larsson
Chief Executive Officer
Former network architect at a global Tier-1 carrier. Elena founded ConfigUnify after spending a decade writing the same vendor conversion scripts over and over.
Raj Narayanan
Chief Technology Officer
Led platform engineering at two network software startups. Raj designed the CUF schema and the semantic parsing engine that underpins the entire product.
Kemi Osei
VP Product
Previously a senior product manager at a major cloud networking vendor. Kemi translates complex operator workflows into intuitive product experiences.

Our Story

From chaos to clarity

In 2019, Elena was managing a Tier-1 ISP's global backbone across 1,200 routers, 600 firewalls, and 300 switches from five vendors. When a regional outage occurred, the root cause was invisible — not in the network's current state, but in mismatched configuration fragments across dozens of hand-edited files. That experience crystallized the problem: there was no single source of truth for what the network should be, and no way to compare intent to reality at scale.

Elena met Raj at a conference where he was presenting work on semantic configuration analysis. By 2021, they founded ConfigUnify in Toronto with a simple thesis: if network configuration could be divorced from vendor syntax and expressed in a universal format, then the entire workflow — normalization, diffing, validation, deployment — becomes possible.

The first prototype was ugly and incomplete, but it solved their own problem. Within three months, they were approached by two other ISPs and a hyperscaler who had independently arrived at the same need. Today, ConfigUnify is trusted by over 40 organizations managing 100,000+ network devices worldwide.

Our Capabilities

Built on deep expertise

  • Multi-Vendor Parsing: Native support for Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, Juniper Junos, Arista EOS, Nokia SR OS, Huawei, Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet, and more. Proprietary parsers handle vendor quirks, implicit defaults, and deprecated syntax.
  • Semantic Validation: Beyond syntax — ConfigUnify understands intent. Catch overlapping IP ranges, duplicate BGP routes, and policy conflicts before deployment.
  • Enterprise Deployment: On-premise, cloud, and air-gapped options. Multi-tenancy, SSO/LDAP, role-based access control, and SOC 2 Type II compliance.
  • Automated Rollback: Every deployment generates a diff-verified reverse plan. Rollback executes in seconds with per-device verification.
